Welcome to The Catholic Churches of the Mountains and Lakes
A Word of Welcome From the Pastor
Mountains and hills, bless the Lord . . .
You springs, bless the Lord . . .
Seas and rivers, bless the Lord;
praise and exalt him above all forever.
(Daniel 3:75, 77-78)
Welcome to our Catholic Churches of the Mountains and Lakes. We are situated in the center of the beautiful Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York - our worship of Almighty God is lifted up amidst the chorus of praise that has been echoing in the "mountains and hills," the "springs" and "rivers" for eons.
Bloomingdale, Gabriels, Lake Clear, Saranac Lake New York - each of our parishes has a distinct history, character and personality - yet all our parishes share in the same mission, which is to continue the work of Christ on earth as he commissioned his first disciples to do.
Perhaps you are a "cradle Catholic" and have always been a "churchgoer." Maybe you have done a little wandering and are interested in "coming home" again. Perhaps you've been a searcher all your life and you're seeking something deeper, more meaningful than what you've experienced so far in life. Feel free to take a look around on this site, and follow our links to see if what we offer here has something to answer your longings. I believe we do. That's because what is "on offer" here is nothing less than a new life in Christ and the gift of his Holy Spirit. There is plenty of information on the background and history of each parish. If you have children of k-5 age, we hope you will consider enrolling in St. Bernard's School.
With all the best wishes and a promise of prayers for you and yours.
Fr. Patrick Ratigan, Pastor
